The school year is coming to an end, and, with it my mandate as Director. Sadly, I have not enjoyed the best of health in my last school year – I regret very much being absent on medical grounds so much and I have particularly missed being in the school and am thankful to so many for taking care on my behalf.
I would like to express my sincere thanks to all members of the school community, and beyond, - past and present -, for the wonderful support and encouragement that you have given the school, and to me personally over the years.
I am sure that the school will continue to evolve as one in which enthusiasm, passion, and constructive energy play a major part. One in which the European sprit prevails, and binds, and where the standards are high, and where the opportunities, are numerous and rich. I know that the youngsters of the school will continue to greatly profit from the education they receive.
In September, the ESM will have a new Director, Mr. Rudolph Ensing of the Netherlands. I warmly welcome him and wish him, and the school, every success for the future.
It has been an honour to have been the Director, and to have shared a part of life’s journey with you.

Liebe Freunde der ESM,
das Schuljahr neigt sich dem Ende zu und mit ihm auch mein Mandat als Direktor. Leider habe ich mich in meinem letzten Schuljahr nicht bester Gesundheit erfreut. Ich bedauere sehr, dass ich aus gesundheitlichen Gründen so lange abwesend war, denn die Schule hat mir auch persönlich sehr gefehlt. Deshalb bedanke ich mich bei allen, die mich in meinem Namen vertreten haben.
Ich möchte mich ganz herzlich bei allen ehemaligen und jetzigen Mitgliedern der Schulgemeinschaft und Schulpartnern für die wundervolle Unterstützung und Ermutigung bedanken, die sie der Schule und mir persönlich über die Jahre gegeben haben.
Ich bin mir sicher, dass sich die ESM auch weiterhin als eine Schule entwickeln wird, in der Begeisterung, Leidenschaft und konstruktive Energie eine zentrale Rolle spielen; eine Schule, in der der europäische Geist gleichzeitig herrscht und zusammenhält und in der das Niveau hoch ist und die Chancen vielfältig und bereichernd sind. Ich weiß, dass die Jugendlichen auch weiterhin stark von dieser Schulbildung, die sie an der ESM erhalten, profitieren werden.
Im September wird der neue Direktor, Herr Rudolph Ensing aus den Niederlanden, seinen Dienst in der ESM antreten. Ich heiße ihn herzlich willkommen und wünsche ihm und der Schule viel Erfolg für die Zukunft.
Es war mir eine große Ehre, Direktor gewesen zu sein und gemeinsam mit Ihnen ein Stück des Lebenswegs beschritten zu haben.

Chers amis de l’école européenne de Munich
L’année scolaire se termine ainsi que mon mandat en temps que Directeur de l’école. Je regrette profondément ne pas avoir pu profiter de ma dernière année à l’EEM car j’ai été très souvent absent pour des raisons médicales. Je remercie tous ceux qui m’ont remplacé pendant ce temps.
J’aimerais remercier tous les membres de l’école ainsi que tous ceux qui l’ont quittée pour leur dévouement et enthousiasme au service de l’école. Un grand merci aussi à tous ceux qui m’ont apporté leur soutien pendant toutes ces années.
Je suis certain que l’école va poursuivre son évolution dans un environnement constructif et enthousiaste où l’esprit européen est omniprésent. Les élèves continueront à profiter d’une scolarité de haut niveau et partageront de nombreuses expériences enrichissantes.
A la rentrée 2010, Monsieur Rudolph Ensing en provenance des Pays Bas sera le nouveau directeur de l’école. Je lui souhaite la bienvenue et lui présente mes meilleurs vœux pour les années à venir à l’EEM.
Ce fut un grand honneur d’être le Directeur de cette école et je tiens encore à vous remercier pour votre collaboration.
