FAZ: Youth and Economy

Projekt coordinator:
Ulrich Mussack

Discovering economic topics, doing research, conducting interviews, writing articles and perhaps finding one’s own article published world-wide in the “Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung” (FAZ). Such are the experiences of pupils participating in “Youth and Economy”, a joint-project of the federal association of German banks and the FAZ.

“Youth and Economy” is a media and economy project for school lessons where the participating pupils work with the newspaper and even write their own articles. Once a month - always on the first Thursday - selected articles written by pupils are published in the economics section of the FAZ on the page titled “Youth and Economy”. The authors of the best articles and the most committed schools are rewarded at the end of the project as part of a ceremony in Berlin.

The teacher in charge, Mr Mussack, is also planning new applications for the next school year in order to provide an opportunity to as many pupils as possible to participate in this project.
