Language sections of the Kindergarten
The kindergarten has three language sections: German, English and French.
One of the Kindergarten’s main roles is to establish the
“mother tongue” as the language of the child’s future school
career. This language should be one that the child has spoken and has had quality
exposure to since birth. In the case of bilingual children, parents should choose
the language section in Kindergarten that their child will join in the Primary
School so that peer group friendships can be established and the language needed
for further learning can be introduced.
Each group has a class teacher and when the group is bigger than 15 a classroom an additional assistant is appointed to the group.
